Danny M Field Jun 12,1957-May 7,2014 Deep River- Danny M. Field, 56, of Winthrop Rd, Deep River passed away at his home Wednesday May 7, 2014 with his family by his side. He was employed by Electric Boat of Groton for 35+ years as a Trade Tech Pipefitter and had been completing his testing to better himself and become a Silver Brazer. He was born June 12, 1957 in Middletown, son of Gertrude(Taggert) Field and the late Newton J Field. Danny will be remembered for his auto racing being known as the "Wild & Patient" man and the driver/owner of the #18 ministock. He holds championships at Waterford Speed-bowl, Thompson Inter-national Speedway and the Northeast Ministock Tour. Dan enjoyed being with his grandchildren whether it was helping his grandsons James and Di'Angelo drag race their quads or reading to and helping to dress dolls with his granddaughters Alice and Paige. He loved family picnics when he could bring his baked beans or his brownies with peanut butter in them, playing the game of washers or racing pocket rockets around his brother's yard. He liked collecting Pez and Book of Knowledge banks, going to explore different antique shops or flea markets. Dan was an amazing family man, loving husband, father and friend. Danny will be remembered as a kind, loving person who made many friends and will be missed by all, not a day goes by that he is not thought of. Danny is survived by his wife of 36 years Tammy M. Field (Page), his two daughters Theresa and Anglea, his four grandchildren James, Di'Angelo, Alice and Paige, his mother Gertrude and his three brothers Newt, Chuck and Ed, also numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Newton and his sister Anna. Help to remember Danny who is now at peace and has started his new journey on his flight to Race with the Angels in heaven. A graveside service will be performed by Rev. Timothy Haut on Saturday July 26, 2014 beginning at 11 o'clock at the Winthrop Cemetery on Rt. 80 (There will be no dress code) following will be refreshments at the Winthrop Baptist Church until 1 o'clock. Danny will be loved and remembered in our hearts forever.
