David Jainchill Obituary
David Jainchill November 27, 1927 - January 6, 2014 NORWICH - David Jainchill passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Norwich on Monday, January 6. He was born in Hartford on November 27, 1927 to Ida and Morris Janchill. He graduated from Weaver High School, Class of 1945, a proud starting lineman on the Weaver Beavers football team. He then graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1947. He enjoyed telling of his experiences driving large transport trucks to New York in his early work life. In 1963, he started work as a Stock Broker with Paine-Webber. This became for him a very successful, 47-year career that culminated upon his recent retirement as Senior Vice President – Investment Officer at Wells Fargo Advisors. Uncle Davie, as many knew him, was a member of Beth Jacob Synagogue in Norwich for more than 50 years years. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Eastern CT for many years. His charity was well known throughout the community. He loved people, animals, the beach and his gardens. He had a big smile and huge and loving heart. Uncle Davie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anita Jainchill, his nephews, Dr. Paul Shapiro of West Hartford and Richard Greenberg of West Hartford, his nieces, Susan Rand of New York, Jayne Frieman of West Hartford and Barbara Siegel of Hartford, and Toby and Richard Wolak of Norwich. He leaves behind his many friends, and his beloved cat, Oscar David was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Coit, Sara Greenberg, and his twin sister, Ann Shapiro. Donations in his memory may be made to Beth Jacob Synagogue, the Jewish Federation of Eastern CT, or a charity of donor's choice. Services will be held at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem Street, Norwich, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 10.
