Edwin P. Ziobrowski January 15, 1925 - July 10, 2012 Mesa, AZ - Edwin "Chick" Ziobrowski, 87, of Mesa, AZ passed away on July 10, 2012. Edwin was born on January 15, 1925 in Plainfield to the late Frank and Eva Ziobrowski. Upon graduating from Putnam High School in 1943, he immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy Seabees. Because of his role during the invasion of Normandy, he received a commendation from the Deputy Consulate General of France for the liberation of France. After three years in the Navy, he returned to Putnam where he met and married the love of his life Dolores Gothreau whom he remained married to for 58 years. While raising a family, Edwin earned his Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Junior College. He worked for Rogers Corporation both in Connecticut and Belgium eventually moving the family to Arizona in 1972. After his retirement from Rogers Corporation, he continued consulting for CTM Magnetics for 12 more years. Throughout his life he was known for his athletic ability playing semi-pro football for the Putnam Blackhawks in 1953 and coaching little league baseball. His true passion was always golf. Edwin was a loving husband and father. He will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edward and his daughter Christine. He is survived by his sisters Stasia and Blanche; wife Dolores; daughters Lynn (Jim Burns)and Mary (Peter Kandaris); grandchildren Mariah, Tamara, Katherine, Michael and Travis. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church 1244 S. Power Road in Mesa, AZ on Wednesday, July 18 at 10 A.M. followed by interment and reception at Mariposa Gardens, 400 S. Power Road, Mesa, AZ.
