Floyd W. Wade February 6, 1935 - June 18, 2012 EAST KILLINGLY - Floyd W. Wade, age 77, died Monday at home with his family by his side. He was born in East Killingly on February 6, 1935, son of the late John W. and Myrtle (Cross) Wade. He was the husband of Catherine D. (Ogden) Wade; they were married July 4, 1964. Mr. Wade served in the U.S. Air force from 1956-1960. He had been employed as a supervisor at the former Acme Cotton in East Killingly for many years and later Garrity Industries as a shipping supervisor retiring in 2000. Mr. Wade was a member of High Pointe Church in Thompson where he served as an usher. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and beloved pets. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Susan and Lloyd Gevry of East Killingly, William and Linda Wade of East Killingly, Timothy Wade and Brenda LeMay of Brooklyn; sister, Phyllis Simmons of East Killingly; grandchildren, Andrew Wade and wife Karen, Jarrad Norgren, Matthew Wade who is currently serving in Afghanistan and Wife Megan, Josiah Gevry currently serving in the Air force stationed in AZ, Alexis Gevry, Ashley Wade, Tess Gevry, Timothy Wade Jr. and Autumn Wade; great grandchildren Ethan and Alyssa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Wesley, Francis and Donald Wade. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-6 P.M. at The High Pointe Church, Thompson, followed by a 6 P.M. funeral service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
