Lorenzo "Rennie" Hathaway Died - October 7, 2012 Uncasville - Lorenzo "Rennie" Hathaway, 97, husband of the late Irene (Baldyga) Hathaway of 4 Upper Marina Dr,, Uncasville, formerly of Norwich, did Sunday at Norwichtown Rehabilitation Center. A U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, he was honorably discharged with the rank of Coxswain. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 594 of Norwich. Prior to his a retirement he was employed in tranaportation for many years at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton. Surviving is his son Robert Hathaway of Unc.asville with whom he made his home, his daughter Susan H. Longley of Ashland, N.H., his grandson John H. Longley and his fiancee Alyson Weis, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Charles Hathaway, and his seven sisters, Florence Cox, Elsie Caughey, Annabell Emback, Nellie Dorr, Rena Potts, Mabel Goldberg, and Elva Podziewski. Visitation Friday 5 to 7 P.M. at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, where the funeral will assemble on Saturday at 8 A.M. and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at. 9 A.M. at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Interment to follow with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to American Warrior, P.O. Box 337, 35 Main St., Versailles, CT 06383.
