Lucy E. Bunnell July 7, 1928-August 30, 2013 WATERFORD - Lucy E. Bunnell, 85, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday while surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. Lucy was born in New London on July 7, 1928 to the late Lyman and Helen (Rogers) Pond Sr. In 1948 she married her beloved husband Leonard Bunnell who predeceased her on Jan. 10, 1982. She was an avid gardener surrounding her home with beautiful flowers. Lucy invented the name "family" and that was the center of her life, particularly her great-grandchildren who captivated her heart. She was also a life-long member of the Quaker Hill Baptist Church. She will be missed by her family, adopted family and myriad of friends. Lucy is survived by her sons; John & Tammy Bunnell, Leonard (Buddy) & Deonn Bunnell, Robert & Linda Bunnell, and David & Arlene Bunnell, daughter; Cynthia & David Bunnell-Brown, brothers; Lyman & Rita Pond Jr., Robert Pond, sisters; Dorothy Bustard, Marion Benjamin, Marjorie Fisher, Helen & Thomas Jacobs, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
