Michael D. Yacono June 30, 1970 - December 28, 2009 Cornish, NH - Michael David Yacono, 39 of 240 Townhouse Road, Cornish, NH passed away at DHMC in Lebanon, NH on Dec. 28, 2009 after a brief illness. He spent his final days surrounded by family and friends. Michael was born on June 30, 1970 in Manchester, Connecticut, the son of David Anthony Yacono and Lorraine Goyette Cosseboom. Michael was currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering at Lakes Region Community College in Laconia, New Hampshire. Michael was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army for 6 years and was a veteran of the Gulf War where he earned numerous commendations. After serving his country, Michael chose a career in law enforcement. He served as a police officer in Claremont, Charlestown, Cornish, New Hampshire and in the Sullivan County Sheriffs Department. He was a distinguished member of the New Hampshire Task force and was a SWAT team leader in Western New Hampshire Special Operations Unit. Michael was devoted to helping others in his community and in so doing touched many lives. Michael attended the Riverside Military Academy in Georgia and graduated from Northwest Regional #7 in Winsted, Connecticut. Michael was a loving and devoted father and husband. The family includes his wife Doris Yacono; two beautiful daughters, Brittney Yacono 19, Angela Yacono 13. his siblings, Ken Yacono, DeLorie Belanger, Jennifer Taylor, Carrie Harris, R. William Cosseboom and Libby Miller. His mother Lorraine Cosseboom resides in Cornish, New Hampshire and father David Yacono and stepmother Ellen reside in Colchester, Connecticut. His grandparents Tony Yacono and Lorraine Goyette reside in Manchester, Connecticut. Michael also leaves behind several nieces and nephews including Lara Cosseboom, Lawson Cosseboom, Leighton Cosseboom, Tyler Harris, Kelsy Harris, Kaylee Yacono, DJ Gilbert, William Belanger, Ally Loftis, Orienna Davenport, Diana Davenport, Katherine Davenport and Marcus Davenport. He also leaves behind several aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his stepfather Ralph Cosseboom, grandmother Mary Yacono and grandfather Omer Goyette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Monday morning January 4th at 11:00 AM with Fr. Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor of St Mary's Church officiating. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, on Sunday January 3rd from 5 to 8 PM. Burial will be in the spring in Edminister Cemetery in Cornish, NH.
