Normand A. Lalumiere Obituary
Normand A Lalumiere June 22, 1936 - August 17, 2013 DANIELSON - Normand was born in Weedon Canada, the son of Clarence and Leonie Lalumiere. In addition to his devoted wife Barbara he is survived by his son Gregory SR. of Norwich and daughter Jodie Lynn Dessert of Aiken South Carolina, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, the latest great grandbaby having been born August 18th 2013. He is also survived by his brothers Gean Lalumiere of Danielson and Gustave Lalumiere of Danielson, sister Yoland Tichey of Fairfield and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Jeffery and 12 brothers and sisters. Normand graduated Killing High School in 1955 and attended the University of Connecticut. He served in the CT National Guard and assisted in the Putnam Flood of 1955. He worked in Quality Control Management for Jacobs Rubber/Lydall Corp. and later for Witcraft LLC. Normand enjoyed researching and planning travels throughout the US and Canada. He and his wife especially enjoyed celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in Hawaii and their 50th in Rome. Together they enjoyed hiking and mountain climbing throughout the country. In later years they were often seen walking throughout the town and wherever they found a trail. Normand was a baptized member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Danielson and spent many hours in spiritual activities. The wonderful and loving care provided at the Westview Healthcare Center, for his last year and a half, will always be remembered and cherished. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Danielson or to the Connecticut Chapter 205 Silas Dean Highway suite 100, Rocky Hill CT 06067. Burial services will be at the convenience of the family. A public Memorial Service will be announced as soon as possible.
