Priscilla M. Howe Sept. 7, 1929 - Jun. 16, 2014 NORWICH - Priscilla M. Howe, 84, entered eternal rest on Monday, June 16th, 2014. with her family by her side. She was born in Berlin, NH on Sept. 7th, 1929 to the late Gideon & Cecile (St. Pierre) Vachon. In 1952 she married her beloved husband, John J. Howe Jr., who predeceased her. Priscilla worked for over 40 years in the Norwich School System until she reached the age of 82. Her family moved to Norwich in the early 60s. She went to school in Mystic to become a paraprofessional. She started in the cafeteria of Thomas W. Mahan School in 1967, and transferred to Greeneville Elementary, where she became a classroom paraprofessional. After 6 or 7 years, she moved to what was then Kelly Junior High School, and worked with children with special needs. She retired from Teachers Memorial Middle School after 22 years of service there. She had also worked for some time at West End Pharmacy in Norwich. Additionally, Priscilla loved to bake and was an avid Red Sox fan. During the summer months she had many get-togethers at her back yard pool with her friends, neighbors and colleagues. She also enjoyed visiting her family at the family home in Guildhall, VT. She is survived by her son, John Howe III and his wife Judy of Norwich along with their son Tod and grandchildren Seamus and Grace Murphy, her daughter, Judy Huntington of Rocky Hill and her husband Rich, her grandchildren Alison and Kimberly Huntington, her brothers; Raymond Vachon of Tewksbury, MA and Armand Vachon of Lancaster, NH, her sisters; Doris Hiscock of Concord, MA, Pauline Gemitti of Berlin, along with several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers; Roland and Albert Vachon, and a sister; Annette Tardiff. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 P.M.-7 P.M. at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 A.M. at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, 180 Elizabeth St., Norwich, CT meeting directly at the church. Burial will immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich, CT. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent dePaul's Place, 120 Cliff St., Norwich, CT 06360.
