Priscilla Rose Higgins Obituary
Priscilla Rose Higgins September 29, 1936 - April 16, 2012 Norwich - Priscilla Rose Higgins passed away suddenly on April 16, 2012 at Backus Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born September 29, 1936 in Norwich, daughter of Elsie and Jeremiah Mahoney Jr. She was married to her husband of 38 years Fred Higgins at Lee Methodist Church in Norwich. She adored her family and she was an avid Red Sox, UCONN, Patriots and Celtics fan. She loved traveling, especially to Vegas with her husband and spending time on her computer and following ebay and playing cards. She was employed at Wermen Shoe Factory in Norwich as a secretary. She was a graduate of the class of 1954 from NFA. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by nine children Rose Marie Calavas, Wendy Chase, Edward Deschene , Carrie Deschene, Daniel Deschene, Theresa DeRosier, Scott Higgins, Sean Higgins, and Debbie Longenecker. She is also survived by a brother Jeremiah Mahoney III, and two sisters Linda Burroughs and Carol Labbe , 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Richard Mahoney. Family and friends may visit Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem Street, Norwich on Thursday from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Cathedral on Friday at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Priscilla's family c/o Chelsea Groton Bank, 50 Town Street, Norwich, CT 06360.
