Rodney W. Duchaineau July 17, 1960 - January 10, 2012 Griswold - Rodney W. Duchaineau, 51, of Mechanic Street passed away Tuesday evening at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 17, 1960 in Willimantic son to Sandra J. (Bowie) Frederick and the late Ronald E. Duchaineau. He was married to Kristan L. Johnson on August 11, 2001 at the First Congregational Church in Griswold. She survives him. Rodney was employed at Foxwoods Casino as a Flooring Installer and was self-employed in the flooring industries for many years. He was very talented in all that he did. He enjoyed all kinds of art and was an amazing self taught graphic artist. Along with Rods experience, training, and natural talents, a caring heart is what made Rod a unique and loving individual. Besides his wife and mother he is survived by a son Chad Bromley of Lebanon, a stepdaughter Jennifer Vickers and her husband Eric of Jewett City, two brothers Jeff Duchaineau of Vernon, Darren Duchaineau and his wife Lisa of Bloomfield, two sisters Kim Duchaineau of Bozrah, Pam Day of Norwich, several nieces and nephews and two grandchildren Lily and Annabelle Vickers. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2:00-4:00 P.M. with a funeral service at 3:00 P.M. at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT. Internment will be private.

I will so miss you...until we meet again...I so love you!! Rest in peace!!! You were such a loving and wonderful person...your life was cut way to short...until we meet again..rest and be free of pain. Love You!!

Pam,Darren,Jeff, Kim and family, very sorry for your loss - I only got to know Rod for a few yrs but found that Rod was ther kind of Man that gave his heart to everyone and after 13 minutes knowing Rod it was like you knew him forever - What a horrific loss but Rod is finally at peace - Miss you Rod,
