Stella Drong October 24, 1928 - July 27, 2012 Preston - Stella Drong, 83, widow of Chester Drong, Sr., of Brickyard Rd., Preston died on Friday at Orchard Grove Healthcare. She was born in Preston on October 24, 1928 the daughter of the late Bronislaw and Stella (Maciejny) Kozlowski. She was a permittee of V.F.W. Post 9452 in Preston for 29 years, retiring in 1998. Stella was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 9452 of Preston, and a past member of the Auxiliary of Poquetanuck Volunteer Fire Co. On May 8, 1948 at St. Joseph Church in Norwich she was united in marriage to Chester J. Drong, Sr, who died on May 1, 1967. Surviving are a son Chester Drong Jr. and his wife Ishbel McInnis Drong of Preston, a daughter Carole Drong and her companion Mr. Terry Klein of Mystic, her feline friends, Calley, Spike and Tigger, and several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Bronislaw Kozlowski, and a sister Ann Krzesicki. Visitation on Monday from 6-8 P.M. at Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave, Norwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 12 noon at St. Joseph Church, 120 Cliff St, Norwich, meeting directly at the church, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of S.E. CT, 227 Dunham St, Norwich, CT 06365 or Poquetanuck Volunteer Fire Company, 87 Route 2-A, Preston, CT 06365
