Wanda Anderson Obituary

Wanda (Fielding) Anderson April 22, 1933 - April 27, 2009 Preston - Wanda (Fielding) Anderson, 76 , wife of the late Frank G. Anderson, Jr. of Old Jew-ett City Rd., Preston died on Monday morning at her home. Wanda was born in Haverhill, MA on April 22, 1933, the daughter of the late Edmund and May (Spackman) Fielding. She was graduate of Bourne High School in Bourne, MA, and later took courses at Community Colleges in wildlife management. She met her husband Frank in 1949 while in high school and they were married in 1955 while he was in the Navy. For the next 34 years, they moved from station to station in the Navy while she pursued her wildlife management career. She and Frank settled in Preston and operated the Wanfran Wildlife Rehabilit-ation Center, Inc. working with wildlife that came to them as orphans or were injured. Wanda is survived by four children, a son, Dana Anderson, and daughters Diana Anderson, Linda Fontaine, and Heather Cruse; Two brothers Kevin Fielding and Brendan Fielding; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, who died on November 21, 2008. Visitation 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Route 165, Preston, meeting directly at the church on Friday at 10 a.m.. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Wanfran Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Inc.. 75 Old Jewett City Rd, Preston, CT 06365

Take comfort in knowing that Frank and Wanda are once again reunited. They dedicated their lives to caring for sick, injured and orphaned wild animals and I am thankful to have met both of them.

i first met wanda at preston dairy where we had some wonderful and insiteful talks about wildlife and she even helped a small bird that the mother had been killed and there were so many cats around i feared for its little life ims sure god has a very special place for her in his kingdom i will miss her as ims sure all the special needy wildlife will
