William Eliasson

William Eliasson September 24, 1921 - January 24, 2009 Meriden - William Rief Eliasson 87, of Miller Memorial Community died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at the Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, CT. He was born in Norwich on September 24, 1921 son of the late Theodore C. and Freda A. (Reif) Eliasson. William was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy, class of 1939 and graduated from Mitchell College in New London. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Eliasson was a member of the Jaycees and served as president of the Norwich Chapter and also was a national director. William worked as a tax examiner for the state of CT and retired in 1983. On July 31, 1943 he was united in marriage to Ida R. Belli in St. Patrick's Church in Norwich by Fr. Mitchell. Mrs. Eliasson died five years ago to the day that William passed, Jan. 24, 2004. William is survived by two daughters Linda Quinn and her husband Dennis of Hamden and Jean Mykietyn and her husband Paul of Corinth, TX, one brother Robert D. Eliasson and his wife Shirley and three grandchildren, a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 1PM at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich, There are no calling hours.
