Irene E. Kettle Obituary
Irene E. Kettle Jan. 2, 1930 - May 7, 2014 MOOSUP - "We are heartbroken to announce the passing into peace of our beloved Mother…… Irene Elizabeth (Berard) Kettle, 84, began her journey home on May 7, 2014. Her spirit was released from her worn out shell and is now exploring the universe. Irene was liked by many, loved by many more; all were drawn to her infectious joy of life. She held many jobs throughout her life; the one she is most noted for is her 26 years as the secretary for All Hallows Roman Catholic Parish. Irene found great satisfaction in helping others and she played a crucial role in the formation of Project Pin Food Pantry, where her legacy will last forever. Irene was a loving wife, mother, Mim, friend and sister; she leaves behind but not abandoned a large extended family. Her beloved, Harold A. Kettle who she admired for more than 61 years, her daughters Laura L. Champagne and her husband Robert of Charlestown RI; Anne E. Yaworski and her husband Charles of Plainfield, and a son Timothy A. Kettle and his wife Sheila of Moosup; grandchildren Heather, Joshua, Jennifer, Dylan, Dustin, Nolan and Brett; great grandchildren Anthony, Madison, Jacob, Nicholas, Jaden, Kaylee, Luke, Alex, Tea and Reighley. Irene also leaves behind her sister Claire Coderre of Moosup, her long time special cousin Cecil Miller of Danielson, many nieces and nephews, her adoptive granddaughter Leila Cahalan and her newspaper boy George Emerey. Irene was predeceased by her first born, Michael Anthony; her parents Laura and Anthony Berard; her sister Rita Garrett, Brother Edward Berard and great granddaughter Alexis. She is, in death, as she was in life-loved deeply, never forgotten. The funeral will be held Monday at 9:15 A.M. from Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home 595 Norwich Rd. Plainfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in All Hallows Church, Moosup. Burial will follow in All Hallows Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday 4-7 P.M.
