Joan E. Dubois Jun. 13, 1932 - May 11, 2014 LISBON - Joan E. Dubois, 81, died on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Villa Maria Nursing and Rehabilitation in Plainfield, Born on June 13, 1932 in Norwich, she was the daughter of the late Captain Frans Eyberse and Obeline (Lambert) Eyberse Schaeffer. She was united in marriage to Arthur G. DuBois, 5r. on June 30, 1956 at the All Saints Episcopal Church in Meriden. He predeceased her on November 12, 1988. Joan was a 1950 graduate of Norwich Free Academy and graduated from Bryant College in 1952 with a BS in accounting. She was employed as an accountant at several local businesses and was the owner and operator of the Lisbon Country Nursery School. She was active within the community serving as a Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts. Additionally, she was involved within the 4-H Foundation and Camp Committee and served as a 4-H Leader earning a leadership award in 1983. She also served as Treasurer at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, ECW, Vestry. Joan is survived by her son, Arthur G. DuBois, Jr. and his wife, Sharon of Davie, FL; daughters, Kathleen M. Dubois of Lisbon, Sandra J. Rickey and her husband, Raymond of Jewett City, and Karen D. Lanphear and her husband, Jeffrey of Lisbon; brother, Frans M. Eyberse of Vero Beach, FL; sisters, Dorothy Levanto of Norwich, Regina DeMay of Lisbon, and Marguerite (Peggy) Schaeffer of Columbia, KY; grandchildren, Benjamin Sirois, Jr., Nicholas Sirois, Gregory Sirois, Brian DuBois, Sean DuBois, Amanda Lanphear, Alyssa Lanphear; and several nieces , nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, Family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Leffler Funeral Home, 30 N. Main St., Jewett City. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 27 Babcock Ave., Plainfield. Interment to follow funeral services at Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich. Donations may be made in Joan's memory to St Paul's Episcopal Church or , Connecticut Chapter, at 96 Oak St, Hartford, CT 06106.
