Linda Arline Gedeon Nov. 19, 1950 - Jun. 6, 2014 NORWICH - Linda Arline Gedeon, 63, of Plain Hill Rd., passed away June 6, 2014 at the Norwichtown Rehabilitation and Care Center. Linda was born November 19, 1950 in Queens, NY, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Edna (Nelson) Areskog. She married Louis Earl Gedeon May 22, 1971 in North Stonington CT. He survives her. Until her retirement, she had worked as a business manager for Eastern CT Rehabilitation Centers. Linda was an advocate for the ARC of New London County and the Special Olympics of CT. She was a former representative to the Norwich Chamber of Commerce and served on the PTO for the Samuel Huntington School as well as NFA. She was a member of Park Congregational Church where she served as a member of the" Bells". She loved ocean cruises as well as anything Disney. In addition to her husband Louis, she is survived by her son Dustin E. Gedeon of Norwich, daughter Nicole L. Barile and husband Christopher of Norwich, brother Lawrence R. Areskog of Lake George NY, sister Barbara J. Fisherman and husband Richard of Bethpage, NY, grandchildren Sawyer and Harper Barile, nieces and nephews Laura Karlsen, Robert and David Fisherman, Daniel, Christopher and Marisa Karlsen and her mother in law Anne Gedeon. Linda's family would like to thank Eastern CT Hematology and Oncology Associates, the Backus Hospital A-2 Staff and the Norwichtown Rehabilitation and Care Center for their caring and compassionate care. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Labenski Funeral Home in Norwich at 4 P.M. Calling hours will be held from 1 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Service. Burial will be private for the family. Memorial donations in Linda Gedeon's memory may be made to the ARC of New London County or to CT Special Olympics.
