Leslie Margaret Newman November 22, 1944 - June 14, 2014 SCOTLAND - Leslie Margaret Newman, 69, of Scotland, passed away June 14, 2014 at the William Backus Hospital. She was born November 22, 1944 in Hartford, the daughter of the late Robert H. and Mary (Spungin) Odess. She married William J. Newman November 28, 1992 in Scotland. He survives her. She had worked as the Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) at the Rocky Hill Veteran's Home and Hospital. Leslie's greatest love of all was her family and her dog. She loved photography and gardening. In addition to her husband William, she is survived by her son Johan Campbell and wife Bevin of Fort Collins, CO, daughter Lisa Fuller and husband Roger of Scotland, step daughters Heather Regan and husband Shaun of North Port FL, Shannon LaClair and husband Daniel of Ferrisburg, VT, brothers David Odess, Bruce Odess and wife Marie of E. Hartford, CT, Richard Odess and wife Ruth of Somersworth, NH, grandchildren Ashley and Kelsey Fuller, Arlo and Stella Campbell, step grandchildren Rachel, Silas, John and Raven, and by one step great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Leslie's family would especially like to thank the ECHO Cancer Foundation, the A2 Nursing Staff and Backus Hospital for their caring and compassionate care. A funeral service will be held at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St. Norwich, on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 12 noon. Burial will be private for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Leslie Neuman's memory may be made to the ECHO Cancer Foundation, 330 Washington St. Suite 220, Norwich CT 06360 or to the Scotland Volunteer Ambulance, Scotland, CT 06260.
