Yvonne Anita Masi Apr. 4, 1937 - Jul. 9, 2014 DANIELSON - Yvonne "Anita" Masi, 77, of Danielson passed away July 9, 2014 at Regency Heights nursing home. Anita was born April 4, 1937, the fifth daughter of Leo and Rose Nadeau of Putnam, CT. After graduation from Putnam Catholic Academy, she was employed by Day Kimball Hospital as a laboratory technician. She met the love of her life, Richard Masi in 1960 and married shortly after. Anita left her job to focus on her growing family. She was an accomplished painter and pianist and the Masi house was filled with art and music. Anita enjoyed attending classical musical performances at Jorgensen Auditorium, Storrs, CT. For ten years, she was an organist for St. James Church and sang soprano in the choir. In her later years, she and Richard enjoyed vacationing at Marconi Beach, Cape Cod. Anita is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Richard Masi; daughter Jayne Merrill and husband Jeff of Gorham, ME; son Mark Masi of Brooklyn; son Paul Masi and wife Stacy of Wallingford; daughter Joyce Sychevsky and husband Anthony of Danielson; sisters Roseanne Robert of Quebec; Lucy Smith of Orange; Yolande Lazarou of Dayville; grandchildren Seth Merrill, Tony, Josh and Daniel Sychevsky, Noah Crowell and Jackson Crowell-Masi. The Masi family wishes to thank Regency Heights and Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern CT for their empathy and compassion. A calling hour will be held on Monday from 8:30 - 9:30 A.M. in Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Church, Danielson.
