Marie "Jackie" Milner Mar. 23, 1922 - Jul. 25, 2014 NORWICH - Marie "Jackie" Milner died peacefully on. July 25, 2014 with her family by her side. A kind, thoughtful and caring woman will be missed by all who knew her. She was born on March 23, 1922 in Newburyport, MA, the daughter of John Anthony McCarthy and Ann M. O'Neil. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Walter J. Milner and also by her sister, Anne M. Curran. Jackie graduated from Punchard High School, Andover, MA in 1940 and Bryant anti Stratton Commercial School, Boston, MA in 1941. She began her career as a secretary in Boston and later worked in Philadelphia. She moved to Norwich in 1950 and worked for the Norwich Gas Company. After raising her daughters, she returned to work in the Diocesan School Office and later in the Chancery Office. Upon her retirement, she received the Patrici-Anne Award for her distinguished service to the Diocese. Jackie was a dedicated volunteer and member of many organizations throughout her life including The Rosary Altar Society, Girl Scout Leader, Norwich Women's City Club, Backus Hospital Auxiliary and Norwich Senior Center. A devout Catholic, she was an active member of St. Patrick Cathedral Parish. Jackie is survived by her daughters: Ann Milner of Broadhroolo and Susan Rosenberger and her husband John of Southington and grandchildren Jimmy Rosenberger of Thomaston and Erin Rosenberger of Southington and a itephew and several nieces. She will also be missed by special friends Kathy, Dawn, Jackie and many wonderful neighbors. A calling hour will be held Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the Guillot Funeral Home, 75 So. B St, Taftville, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Cathedral of St. Patrick` at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cathedral of St. Patrick, 213 Broadway, Norwich, CT 06360.
