Viola Glaude Obituary

Viola M. Glaude July 22, 1919 - December 13, 2009 Taftville - Viola M. Glaude, 90, of 19 School St., died Sunday at Crossings West Campus in New London. She was born in Taftville on July 22, 1919 the daughter of the late Albert and Amanda (Blais) Benoit. Viola was last employed as a secretary at the former Florence Mills in Taftville before retiring. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Taftville and was a memeber of the Norwich Senior Citizens. On July 22, 1939 she married Armand J. Glaude at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville who died on January 8, 1979. She is survived by two sons, William Glaude of No. Franklin and Raymond Glaude of Baltic. One daughter, Theresa Giovanni of Taftville. Her daughter-in-law Joan Glaude of Salem. Two brothers, Victor Benoit of Philadelphia, PA and Leo Benoit of Taftville. Two sisters, Hortense Lamothe and Irene Michon both of Taftville. Seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Armand Glaude Jr. and Jerry Glaude. Two grandsons, Brian Glaude and Gerard Glaude, and one son-in-law John Giovanni. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville meeting directly at church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery Taftville. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers. Guillot Funeral Home 75 South B. St., Taftville is in charge of arrangements.
