James F. McLaughlin July 21, 1929 - November 27, 2011 MANSFIELD - James F. McLaughlin, 82, formerly of Brooklyn, died Sunday at home. He was born in Middletown, NY on July 21, 1929, son of the late Frank and Loretta (Brennan) McLaughlin. He was the husband of the late Alice Osborn McLaughlin who died in 1998. Mr. McLaughlin served in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1952 and served aboard the USS Harwood. He owned and operated J.M. Tool Company in Brooklyn for over 30 years. He was a member of the Brooklyn Grange, Tin Can Sailors, VFW and American Legion. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara M. Curreri of Glastonbury and Sandra L. Sandberg and husband Frank of Mansfield, with whom he made his home; two sisters, Thelma Lawlor and husband Jack of Ft. Wayne, IN and Betty Long of Northville, NY; three grandchildren, Shawn Curreri and wife Katie, Justin Curreri and Chelsea Curreri; great grandson Brennan Curreri and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Fisher House Foundation for Veterans, 111 Rockville Pike Suite 420, Rockville, MD 20850-5168, www.fisherhouse.org. Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson is in charge of arrangements.
