Annastasia Delano-Ohlund Obituary
Annastasia Delano-Ohlund June 5, 1976 - October 7, 2012 Moodus - Our beloved, Annastasia, "Anna", "Stacey", Delano-Ohlund, 36, of Moodus and formerly of Columbia, lost her courageous battle with breast cancer on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the Wm. W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. Born in Manchester on June 5, 1976, she is the daughter of her father, Steven Ohlund and his wife Patricia Ohlund of Lebanon and her mother, Kathleen Jenkins and her husband William Jenkins of Chaplin. Annastasia graduated from Lyman Memorial High School in Lebanon in 1994. After school, she and her mother worked together as the chefs at Caprilands Herb Farm in Coventry for the world renowned herbalist, Adelma Grenier Simmons. After Adelma Simmons' death she pursued her other passion, gardening, at Logee's Plants in Danielson and later at Ballek's Garden Center in East Haddam. Finally, she brought her knowledge and love of cooking to The Cooking Company in Killingworth where she continued her career as a chef. She will be remembered by those who loved her as an avid gardener, a woman who loved nature and art and most importantly, as a devoted and loving mother to Liam and friend to all. She will be sadly missed but always remembered by her parents; her loving son Liam; her devoted companion, Bruce J. Dutch of Moodus; her brother Luke Ohlund of Coventry and her sisters Emma Ohlund of Middletown and Leah Ohlund of Meriden; all of the Dutch family, especially, Bruce M. and Frances Dutch of Moodus and many extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 13th at 11am at the First Baptist Church, 694 Trumbull Hwy., Lebanon, CT. Donations in her memory may be made to the Liam Delano-Ohlund Fund, P.O. Box 364, Moodus, CT 06469 (or donations may be accepted at any Liberty Bank branch). The Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester has been entrusted with arrangements. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the countless people who provided support to Annastasia throughout her illness. Your kindness and efforts will never be forgotten.
