Norma Joan Grabusky December 27, 1935 - February 13, 2013 Port Orange, FL - Norma Joan Grabusky 77, of Port Orange, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at the Kindred Hospital in Ocala, Florida. She was born to the late Harold Hoffman and Ester Brandt Hoffman, December 27, 1935, in Peekskill, N.Y. At the age of three, Norma and her family relocated to Norwich. Norma graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1953. She married John J. Grabusky in 1955, and they lived together in various cities throughout the United States before relocating to Port Orange, FL in 1988. With her husband, they owned and operated the Cinderella Motel until 1991, then until retirement she managed the Pier Side Inn. Mrs. Grabusky was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, loved by all who knew her. She touched the hearts of many. Later in life she joined her husband and became a loyal Red Sox rooter. Norma loved to cruise the Mediterranean and traveled to Poland along with her husband many times. Survivors include her husband, John "Jack" Grabusky, of Port Orange, FL; five children John Grabusky, Jr. and his wife Susan Grabusky of Whiteville, NC; Stephen Grabusky of Stafford, AZ; Paul Grabusky of Kansas City, MO; Michelle Oswald Grabusky of Port Orange. FL; and Matthew Grabusky of Tulsa, OK; sister Barbara Jennings Penders of Milford; six grandchildren, John Grabusky III, Stephanie Grabusky, Adam Grabusky, Zachery Grabusky, Morgan Oswald, and Maggee Grabusky; several nephews and her beloved Siamese Meeko. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, February 18, 2013, at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, FL with Father John Bosco Maison officiating.
