Rita M. Cormier August 1, 1921 - February 22, 2013 Plainfield - Rita M. Cormier of Plainfield beloved wife of the late Raymond L. Cormier passed away Friday morning at Colonial Health and Rehab in Plainfield. She was born August 1, 1921 in Notre Dame, Canada a daughter of the late Albenie and Azelie (Allain) Gosselin and lived in Plainfield for many years, also residing in St. Petersburg, FL for 18 years, returning to Connecticut in 1996. Mrs. Cormier had been employed by Aetna Life & Casualty in Hartford for many years retiring in 1972. She was a communicant of St. John the Apostle Church. Mrs. Cormier was musically talented and had enjoyed playing the piano at Pierce Baptist Home. She was also a member of the Plainfield Senior Chorus. She leaves two brothers Raymond Gosselin of Jewett City and Roger Gosselin of Norwich, a sister Lydia Lang of Plainfield, Also numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twin sister Alma Gosselin and four brothers, Ernest, Hervey, Louis and Edmond Gosselin. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Colonial Health and Rehab for their compassion and the excellent care they gave Rita during her stay. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March, 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in St. John the Apostle Church, Plainfield. Private burial will be in St. John Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Recreation Dept. at Colonial Health & Rehab, Winsor Ave. Plainfield, CT. 06374. Dougherty Bros.
