Jeanne Doris (Renquin) Creem Obituary
Jeanne Doris (Renquin) Creem March 8, 1928 - April 6, 2013 Waterford - Jeanne Creem, 85, beloved wife of James Creem, passed away peacefully at her home in Waterford with her family by her side on Saturday April 6, 2013. She was born March 8, 1928, in Central Falls, Rhode Island, the second daughter of the late Jean and Bertha (Mercier) Renquin. A graduate of Griswold High School, she resided in Jewett City and raised her family with her first husband Arvine Gray, (deceased) to whom she was married to for 25 years. She was active in Saint Mary's church, Children of Mary, and was a Girl Scout leader. She worked as an office clerk for United Merchants until her retirement in 1981. She loved music and sang in the church choir. Her singing skills were enlisted for many a wedding and funeral. She was a woman who maintained lifelong friendships and was always there with a listening ear and a giving soul. She married her soul mate, James Creem in 1980. They enjoyed their retirement immensely, traveling to Ireland, Alaska, and Hawaii just to name a few. Also mourning her loss are her three children and their spouses, Candace and Thomas Kiely of Plantsville; Charlene and Arthur Plante of Thompson; and Timothy and Elizabeth Gray of Canterbury. Jeanne was so loved by her seven grandchildren: Aaron Plante, Jillian Ranno, Adam Plante, Niles Plante, Sarah Raio, Evan Plante, and Michelle Kiely who will miss her very much. She was very proud of her great grandchildren: Gavin, Emmalynn, Charlie, Aidan, Chloe, Connor, and Owen. She will be sadly missed by her three sisters: Rita Cote, Elaine Sledziewski, and Therese May. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Normand Renquin and her stepson, Robert Creem. The family would like to thank Kathyann Greaves for her devotion and compassion in caring for Jeanne throughout this past year. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mrs. Creem may be made to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, 628 Hebron Avenue, Suite 300, Glastonbury, CT 06033. Their support was immeasurable. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 9, 2013 at 11 O'clock at St. Paul in Chains Church Rope Ferry Rd. Waterford. Interment will be private. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home 48 Grand Street Niantic. www.neilanfuneralhome.com
