Roland Montigny June 12, 1932 - August 8, 2013 Plainfield - Roland Montigny, 81, passed away on Thursday, August 8th 2013 at his home in Plainfield. Born on June 12, 1932 in Putnam, Roland is the son of the late Alice and Joseph Montigny. Throughout his life, Roland was avid outdoorsman, sportsman, handyman and loved riding his bicycle. As a young man, Roland served in the United States Army as a truck driver during the Korean War. He met the woman who would be his wife and best friend for the rest of his life. Jeannette Leduc. As he began his family, he worked at American Standard until retirement; Roland then continued to work as a school custodian into his late seventies. As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Roland treasured his time with his family and enriched the lives of those around him with his indomitable spirit and unconditional love. Roland is survived by his wife Jeanette, his son Michael, son and daughter-in-law Roger and Heidi Montigny, son and daughter-in-law Robert and Kathy Montigny of Plainfield Ct and his daughter Alice and son-in-law Douglas Ferrance of Beverly Hills Fl. his grandchildren, Devon, Brandy, Colin, Tonya, Nathan, Michaela, Mike, Renee, Jeffrey and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers Bob and Richard Montigny, and was predeceased by a brother Raymond. Visitation will be held at the Labenski Funeral Home 107 Boswell Avenue Norwich, CT 06360 on Thursday August 15th from 5-7 P.M. Burial services will be in Voluntown, CT at the Robbins Cemetery at 10 A.M. on Friday August 16th .
