Gregory Dale Chingren, 58, died unexpectedly Feb. 11, 2013, in Ramsey, Minn.

He was born Jan. 8, 1955, in Sidney to Dale and Dorothy Chingren, both deceased. A long-time resident of Hastings and Grand Island, he recently moved to North Platte where he was employed as a construction supervisor for Power Engineers, Inc. Greg lived in North Platte during his teen years and is a graduate of North Platte High School. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Hastings, where he often sang in the choir. Greg was very proud to be a member of the Patriot Guard, but most important he was a member of the open road covering thousands of miles on his Harley.
Greg is survived by his children, Zach (Beth), of Hastings, Tyler (Craig Hamann), of Omaha, Cody (Shanna Austin) of Omaha; siblings, Dr. Gary(Evelyn) Chingren, Gail (Roger) Smidt, Glen Chingren, all of Hastings; and Greg's special friend, Pat Jurek, of Ramsey, Minn.; nieces, Gwen (David) Wellsandt, Giuli (Brian) Oppliger, all of Omaha; nephew, Dr. Corey (Laura) Stutte, of Hastings.

Services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1338 North Saunders, Hastings, with a light lunch to follow in the church hall. A private burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m., today, with family present from 7-9 p.m., at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home, which is in charge of the arrangments.
