White, Arline Patricia
WHITE, Arline Patricia July 16, 1937 - May 14, 2015 . With sadness but much love and many wonderful memories, we mourn the passing of Arline, surrounded by family, after a sudden but brief illness. She leaves behind Bob, her beloved husband of 57 years, her son Donald (Dinah) and daughter Barbara (Roy), grandsons Thomas and Douglas, and brothers Ross (Diane) and Murray. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, to Robert and Greta Smith, Arline spent her early years in Winnipeg, moving to BC in 1947 where she lived in several communities, attending 12 schools in 12 years! Arline married her beloved Bob on April 5, 1958 at St. Andrews United Church, living and working in North Vancouver for 6 decades before moving to Sidney on Vancouver Island in 2014. Arline treasured her family and time spent together. She loved to travel with Bob and family, visiting almost 60 countries. Passionate about her role as a teacher, Arline positively influenced hundreds of students at North Vancouver elementary schools. Arline's generosity and natural curiosity endeared her to all who met her. She had a huge heart and loved life and people. She had a large local and international "extended family" of friends with whom she was in frequent contact (the telephone and e-mail were invented for Arline)! The family thanks Dr Adair (North Vancouver) and the medical staff at Victoria General Hospital. A private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to one of the charities Arline supported (Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon, BC Cancer Foundation, BC Lung Association) or to a charity of your choice.

WHITE, Laura Elise
WHITE, Laura Elise January 17, 1925 - May 7, 2015 It is with great sadness the family of Laura White (nee Plunkett) announces her passing on May 7th, 2015 at the age of 90. Born January 17th, 1925 in Dublin, Ireland, Laura immigrated to Canada with her husband Ernest and four children, settling in West Vancouver. She loved the village and seawall of Ambleside and took great pride in the raising of her children and spending time with her grandchildren in what she considered one of the best places to live. Predeceased by her husband Ernest and survived by her four children Avril (Malcolm), Sharon (Hugh), Russel and Derek, her thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. God saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb So he closed your eyelids And whispered... "Peace be thine" The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Kiwanis Nursing Home and Lions Gate Hospital.
