CORBETT, Dennis (Denny Korbay) 2 Star Mariner Dennis passed away peacefully on March 27, 2014 at the Irene Thomas Hospice in Ladner. He was 64 and following a brave battle with cancer, His Saviour took him home. Dennis was born on August 22, 1949 at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Karen, and by his daughter Lora Kathleen. He is also survived by his twin sister Maureen (Ken), brother Andy (Jean), brothers-in-law Roger (Claire), Brian (Judy), his nephews David (Melinda), Dane, Jedd (Jessica), Seth (Laura). Grandpa to Jacob and Joshua. He was so proud of his great-nephew Alexander and his great-niece Jaden for their accomplishments in Tae Kwon Do. Karen wishes to thank Dr. Ken Lai, Dr. Sandy Chuang, Sharon and Tennille for their incredible care and understanding. Also a big thank-you to the devoted staff and volunteers at Irene Thomas Hospice who made our 28 hour stay a memory of love and compassion. Thank-you to Crawford Funston of Delta Funeral Home for all of his kindness to our family. Dennis will always be remembered for his love of life and he is a great example of a life transformed by God. He loved the game of golf and his annual June "Denay Korbay Classic" will continue on which he founded and which will carry on in his memory. A little magnet "Next To Golf, I Love My Wife The Best" always brings a smile. Dennis was filled with love and joy by all of you, giving into his life, believing in him, loving him unconditionally, and always enjoying laughing with him and listening to his many adventurous stories. A Celebration of Thankfulness will be held at South Delta Baptist Church, on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 1:00pm. Please wear yellow, Dennis's favourite colour or any other bright colour. Please, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Daybreak Point Bible Camp, in Memory of Dennis Corbett, designated for "Sponsorship Fund" for kids for summer camp on Anvil Island, in the Howe Sound.
