CRUICKSHANK, Alice Violet March 11, 1935 - March 5, 2014 . Alice passed away peacefully in Lions Gate Hospital, just six days shy of her 79th birthday. Born in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, in 1935, she moved to North Vancouver with her family in 1942. She has been a resident of West Vancouver since 1976. She enjoyed a career as a receptionist for an optometrist and later for an orthodontist. Alice was a proud member of the YMCA Pump Primers exercise group for over 27 years. Alice was predeceased by her father and mother, Joseph and Violet Price, her four sisters, Louise, Inez, Mary Jean, Charlaine, and brothers, David and Joseph. Alice is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jack, her son David and his wife, Sabine, grand-children, Dalan and Conner, her brother Ellsworth (Cy) and his wife Louise, and many nieces, nephews and friends. There will be no service held at the request of Alice. A private gathering of family and friends to remember Alice will be held at a later date. A donation to the Kidney Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Alice's memory would be appreciated.
