Marjorie Adelaide Bingham, a resident at Joseph's Court, Langley, for many years, passed away on Feb. 11, 2012 in Moose Jaw, Sask. aged 88 years. A funeral service was held Feb. 16, 2012 (her 89th birthday) at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Moose Jaw with her son, Father John Bingham, officiating.

Born in North Battleford, Sask., Adelaide grew up in Ruddell before marrying Alf, a dashing young Englishman stationed with the RAF near her home during the war. They lived briefly in England, then moved back to live in Saskatoon, Calgary and Edmonton to raise their family. Adelaide worked as a dietary aide at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton, for several years. Later she was active in volunteering with Meals on Wheels, Pro-Life, and church-sponsored events. After Alf's death, she stepped up her volunteer activities, and also made several overseas trips to visit her daughters in Australia and Scotland.

Adelaide was a generous giver, sponsoring foster children as well as giving to worthy charities and to her church family. Her firm faith, keen sense of humour and hardy disposition saw her through many changes in her later years. She became a big part of her great-grandchildren's lives, assisting granddaughter Amy with their care, and providing lots of hugs and stories.

Adelaide made the decision to move back to Saskatchewan when other family members relocated there in 2011. She had lived in Moose Jaw only a short time when ill health overtook her. She passed away peacefully after a four-month period of waning strength.

Adelaide is lovingly remembered by sisters Arline (Glen) and Dorothy, brother Keith (Marion); daughters Kay (Ken) and Sandra (Stephen), son Robert (Jary); grandchildren George (Annie), Caitlin (Ingvar), Amy (Andriy), Andrew, and Liam; great-grandchildren Makariy, Patrick, Lydia and Daniel; several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

Adelaide will be buried beside her dear Alf in Northern Lights Cemetery, Edmonton, AB. Donations may be made in Adelaide's memory to Operation Eyesight ( or another .
