SMITH, Don Percy . Don Percy Smith also referred to as "that old guy" or "what's his name", and sometimes called "Stumpy" passed away on August 24, 2013. Born December 3, 1939 in Moosejaw, SK, Don was a self-proclaimed Jack-of-all trades and master of none. He loved to share his knowledge and if you received his teachings (which required some patience) you will have heard (many, many times) "measure twice cut once". "Mr. Home Depot" as his family and friends lovingly called him will be sorely missed wandering up and down the aisles and acting like a substitute clerk. Retired from 38 years of being "Number 1" at Labbatt's, Don went on to working full-time building, fixing and generally helping out for every friend, family member and neighbour that would put up with him. He was known for defying Dr's orders, finishing other people's crosswords and talking back to the t.v. Don was lucky enough to be married to the love of his life, Marion, for 49 years. Remembered by those who loved and bugged him often are his daughter Krista (Brent), son Don (Jill), granddaughters Emily and Sophia, sisters Mae and Kay, brother and sister-in-laws Hugh (Penny), Althea (Bud), Lorne (Joan) and Mike, numerous nieces and nephews Kim (Juan), Mike, Rick (Elissa), Paul (Tammy), Angie, Connie and his numerous friends and family. "Papa" will be dearly missed by Jamie, Brianna, Nikki, Olivia, Keimi, Willie, Jacob and Jayden. A casual get together will be held, on his dime, Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 3pm-8pm at the family home for all friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Royal Columbian Hospital Auxiliary
