BUSTOS - Henry Henry passed away on Saturday, January 18th in North Shore Hospice. He is survived by his wife Alice, sons David (Tamara) and Robert (Jenn), daughter Linda, grandchildren Ainsley and Duncan, brother Fernando (Theresa) and other family and friends who always loved (and generally tolerated) him. Henry lived life by his rules, most often at his work where he was blessed to be surrounded by friends and humour. Enrique Bustos Martin was born in Barcelona on May 22, 1932 to Carmen Martin and Fernando Bustos. Travels throughout Europe led him to Switzerland in 1962, where he met Alice Frieda Oderbolz. Together they plotted a move to a new life in Canada in 1964, and they were married in Toronto in 1965. Here, drawing on his old world training, Henry undertook the first of his woodworking ventures, moving to Vancouver in 1969 and eventually opening Leisure Woodcraft in North Vancouver in 1978. He operated this shop for the next 35 years until health hastened his "retirement" at the age of 80. Henry enjoyed meeting and hosting friends at Leisure - where his door was always open - and following sports, in particular his beloved FC Barcelona and Spanish national teams. A master cabinet maker, Henry's work lives on in many homes, restaurants and businesses in Greater Vancouver. His generosity, sharp wit and strong opinions lasted to his passing and were a gift to all that knew him. The twinkle in his eye remains with us today. A gathering of friends to honour Henry's time with us will be held on Wednesday, January 29th between 1:00 and 3:00 at La Bodega Restaurant in Vancouver.
