BROWN- Margery Irene (nee Bell) November 21, 1927- November 11, 2013 It is with profound sadness that we announce that our Mom passed away peacefully, on Remembrance Day at 11am, after a long illness at Evergreen House. Predeceased by her husband Jack (1979) and her spouse Gerry (2000). She will be deeply missed by her son Doug (Jill) and her daughter Carolyn (Stu). Margery was one of the first babies born at Grace Hospital in 1927. She grew up in Vancouver and attended Lord Byng high school. She worked as a stenographer at Home Oil in the 50s until she met and married John (Jack) Brown. After a short stint in Calgary, where their son was born, they moved back to Vancouver where they eventually settled in North Vancouver and had their daughter. In the 70s, she began work as a substitute teacher at various elementary schools and then became a teacher aid at North Star Elementary in North Van. After Jack passed away, she began work at Imperial Oil as a Switchboard operator until she retired in 1986. She went on many wonderful trips and cruises in the US, Europe and Caribbean with Gerry in the 80s and 90s. Her greatest joys in life were hanging out with her kids and good friends, loving animals, being in the outdoors, especially up Grouse Mountain and Whistler, dancing, laughing and just having fun. Doug and Carolyn would like to thank the staff at Evergreen House for caring and looking after our Mom. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday November 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Boal Chapel 1505 Lillooet Road North Vancouver, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC SPCA in Margery's name would be appreciated. "Dance Like No one is Watching"
