He left this world very peacefully with the help of the amazing nursing staff of 6 East at Lions Gate Hospital after 2 years of living with cancer. Predeceased in death by his father Harold and mother Catherine (Rena) Smethurst and wife Sharon. Survived by brother Michael, 2nd wife Peggie, 4 sons (Thomas and Matthew Smethurst, Craig and Kc Franks), numerous nieces and nephews. He was employed by Coast Mountain Bus Co. for 21 years driving 228 Lynn Valley run for the last several years. Memorial gathering in celebration of his life at Mollie Nye House, 940 Lynn Valley Rd, Saturday, August 11 from 11:30 to 3:30.
