Patrick D. M. Robinson, 70, of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday, September 26, 2013, in his home.
Mr. Robinson was born on Saint Patrick's Day 1943, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Congressman J. Kenneth Robinson and June Bean.
He was a graduate of The Blue Ridge Country Day School (Powhatan) in Millwood, Virginia, and The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He attended Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Patrick began his professional career as a reporter, City Editor and finally, an Assistant Managing Editor for the Winchester Star. Future positions included Executive Editor Buena Vista News, Assistant Managing Editor Northern Virginia Daily then later as a freelance writer. Patrick was Vice President and Analyst for the Taurus Corporation and Vice President of R&T Packing Corporation. Mr. Robinson attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester and Saint John's Episcopal Church in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. He enjoyed his time as an actor and patron of the Winchester Little Theatre.
Patrick is survived by his sisters, Keveney Robinson Furst and husband, Stephen, of Winchester, Sutra Ray Robinson of Ashland, Oregon, Sallie Robinson Ward and husband, David, of Boulder, Colorado; brothers, James Rankin Robinson and wife, Lynn, John Kelly Robinson and wife, Sally, all of Winchester; God-daughter and niece, Kathryn Robinson Furst Sheehan; nieces and nephews, Kenneth Robinson, III, Kirby Robinson, Taylor Furst, Kaelyn Robinson, Graeme Robinson and John Kelly Robinson, Jr.; great niece, Sarah Robinson; his former wife, Sue Ann Clevenger Robinson of Winchester and sister-in-law, Beverely Cowley Robinson Jankiewicz and husband, Ed, of Staunton, Virginia. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Kenneth Robinson, Jr. and his step-mother, Kathryn Rankin Robinson.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Patrick's caregivers and hospice staff for all of their wonderful love, care and support.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 10:00-11:00 AM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Father Brendan Bartlett officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Patrick's nieces, nephews and Patrick Throckmorton.

You were an amazing man. I will never forget you. Your smile light up a place where darkness lay for many. Know I am beyond well now. And, I am grateful of my stay at the hospital as it allowed me to meet you! It was an honor knowing you.
