Donald Edwin "Eddie" Berg, 60, of Winchester, VA, formerly of Keyser, WV, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Winchester Medical Center.
Born on December 31, 1952 at Keyser, WV, he was a son of the late Donald Elwood Berg and Velda A. (Adams) Berg Heavener.
Mr. Berg was a 1971 graduate of Keyser High School where he was King of Class Night and was an Ed Kelley Award nominee. He retired as a water treatment plant operator for the Town of Leesburg, VA and attended the Round Hill United Methodist Church, Winchester.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 40 years, Charlotte (Emery) Berg; two daughters, Shelley R. DeHaven and husband T.J. and Leigh Ann Berg and fiance Mike Gilkey, all of Winchester; one brother, Randy D. Berg and wife Jackie of Rio, WV; and four grandchildren, Kayla, Kendall, Trey and Kason.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church, Knobley-Headsville Road, Keyser, WV, on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Doug Rinker and Gary Palmer officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m.
Private interment will be in the Cabin Run Cemetery, Keyser.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Bless the Child Christmas Fund, c/o Round Hill United Methodist Church, 2993 Northwestern Pike, Winchester, VA 22602.
The Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Keyser, WV, is in charge of the arrangements.
