Chrisman Sr., Garland Richard "Brownie" - Shenandoah Junction  
Garland "Brownie" Richard Chrisman, Sr., 76, of Shenandoah Junction, WV passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Fairfax INOVA. Born January 24, 1939 in Charles Town, WV, he was the son of the late Walter Chrisman and Annie Dodson Chrisman. He was a member of Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church and a custodian at T.A. Lowery Elementary School. Brownie was a graduate of Charles Town High School. He was a member of the Charles Town Moose Lodge # 948. He coached for Charles Town, Ranson and Jefferson County Little Leagues and was actively involved with the Parks and Recreation. He was a 16 year survivor of a heart transplant, which set the new bar for length of life following the surgery. He had an infectious smile that would light up the room, and he never knew a stranger. Brownie had a tender heart for special needs children and had a sister with special needs. He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Wolfe and husband, Darrell of Shenandoah Junction, WV and Diane Mowery and husband, Glenn of Charles Town, WV; two sons, Garland R. Jr. âRichieã and wife, Poppy of Middleway, WV and James "Buck" Chrisman and wife, Angy of Shenandoah Junction, WV; four grandchildren, Darrell Wolfe, Jr. and wife, Jamie, Laken Mowery, Kenzie Chrisman and Macie Chrisman; two sisters, Martha Bradley of Leetown, WV and Helen âSnooksã Mason of Inwood, WV; and one brother, Marion âDickã Chrisman of Charles Town, WV. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Lou in 2008; six brothers, William, Edward, Raymond, Walter, Jr., Robert, and Nelson; and five sisters, Christine Miller, Louise Titus, Elizabeth Ranalli, Betty Jean and Doris Chrisman. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastor Corey Bane officiating. Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 and Monday from 7-9 p.m. The family request memorial contributions to T.A. Cooper, Mary (Corrigan) - Fredericksburg  
Mary passed away at her home in Fredericksburg on May 10, 2015, at age 87, where she lived for the past four years. Mary was born on August 22, 1927 in Cleveland to Daniel Corrigan and Florence Bauhaus. She moved to Beltsville, Maryland as a child and rode the streetcar with her brother to Holy Redeemer Catholic School. She graduated from St. Mildredás Academy and attended Strayer College. She began working at IBM in 1951 as a secretary in Washington, D.C. Over the years, Mary had several promotions and transfers within IBM, the last one to Manassas, VA when her husband retired and the family moved to a farm in Front Royal, VA in 1973. During her career, she received the IBM Means Service Award, 21 suggestion awards and became a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. In 1982, she retired after 30 years with IBM. After retirement Mary became more active in the community; she was a past officer of the Business and Professional Womenás Club and the Warren County Fair Association. She was a charter member of the Front Royal Garden Club. Mary was active in the St. Johnás Parish Council of Catholic Women and she was a member of the building committee for the new church. Mary was well known for her delicious meals, Christmas Cookie Exchanges, and Longaberger basket parties! For 27 years Mary played bridge with a wonderful group of ladies and she rarely missed a Tuesday bridge night! She is survived by her daughters, Mary Kay O'Dea Kerr of College Park, MD, and Carrie Cooper Buraker of Fredericksburg, VA; granddaughters, Kirsten Knowles (Duane) of Pompano Beach, FL, Kara Lloyd (David) of Stevensville, MD, and Katelyn Buraker of Fredericksburg, VA; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Cooper; and brother, Daniel Corrigan. A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015, from 2­4 p.m. and 6­8 p.m. at Turner- Robertshaw Funeral Home, 1200 N. Shenandoah Avenue, Front Royal, VA 22630. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 22, 2015; at 11 am at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 120 W. Main Street, Front Royal, VA 22630. Interment will occur on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20906. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church or the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
