Buterbaugh, Marvin L. - Linville  
Marvin L. Buterbaugh, 76, of Linville, VA, died suddenly at home, Wednesday, February 25, 2015. He was born April 1, 1938 in Big Cove Tannery, PA, son of the late Melvin Arthur and Evelyn Mellott Buterbaugh. He joined the National Guard at 17 while he was still in high school. He was a graduate of Shippensburg State Teacher's College in PA, did graduate work at G. W. University and Pace University. He taught High Math in the PA school system for five years. He retired from I.B.M. in 1993 and retired from Thrivent Financial in 2014. He ran marathons and was a life long athlete. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Forestville. He excelled at helping people with financial matters. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Swank Buterbaugh, whom he married April 15, 1979. He is also survived by two sons, Kent R. Buterbaugh of Fleming Island, FL and Keith R. Buterbaugh and his wife, Michelle, of Douglasville, GA; a sister, Joyce Thomas of Chambersburg, PA; 10 grandchildren; one great grandson; a sister-in-law, Penny Swank of Milton, VT; and a brother-in-law, Joel Swank, of Beaverton, OR. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Henry Buterbaugh and Charles Leroy Buterbaugh. A Thanksgiving for Life will be held Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Rev. James B. Davis officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Callahan, Teresa Evans - Boyce  
Teresa Evans Callahan, 76, of Boyce, VA, died February 24, 2015 in the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA. Mrs. Callahan was born July 9, 1938 in Jersey City, New Jersey, daughter of the late Walter Evans and Teresa Veronica O'Brien Evans. She was an honors graduate of Seton Hall University. She founded Homeport, LLC, whose purpose focused on funding for education. She was a member of St. Bridget's Chapel in the Field, Berryville, VA. She married Joseph Edward Callahan on June 1, 1963. Surviving with her husband, are three sisters, Eileen Pfeifer, Susan Cordano and Deborah Brown. Her sister, Maureen "Cookie", and her brother, Walter, both preceded her in death. A funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at St. Bridget's Chapel in the Field, with Rev. Stanley J. Krempa officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. The family will receive friends from 1 ­- 2 p.m., prior to the service at the church. Cave, Emmeleen L. - Winchester  
Emmeleen L. Cave, 79, of Winchester, Virginia, died March 2, 2015, at the Winchester Medical Center. Mrs. Cave was born in 1935, in Cherry Grove, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Samuel and Mona Arbogast. She was employed at Winchester Medical Center as a cold food cook, retiring in April 2006. Her husband, Guy Richard Cave, whom she married on January 27, 1957, preceded her in death on September 16, 1985. Mrs. Cave is survived by her four daughters, Pamela Straley (Howard), Lois Holt, Christine Linaburg (Frank), and Becky Walton (Matthew); her two sons, Thomas Cave (Teresa) and Bradley Cave (Ray); 10 grandchildren, Jessica Taylor (Travis), Stephanie Linaburg, Kenneth Cave (April), Travis Gongaware, Justin Gongaware, Shannon Straley, Jessica Holt (Dustin), Justin Linaburg (Christy), Josh Constable (Tiffany) and Austin Gongaware; eight great grandchildren; and her sister, Ruby Bonnell. Mrs. Cave was preceded in death by her sisters, Ada Nelson, Bonnie McClure, and Katherine Arbogast; as well as her brothers, Dempsey, Junior, Jesse, Weldon, and Keith Arbogast. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2015, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, as well as on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Lohr and Barb Funeral Home in Elkins, West Virginia. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015, with the Pastor Ron Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Gladys Cemetery, Glady, West Virginia. Crabill, Carolyn Arebba - Maurertown  
Carolyn Arebba Crabill, 72, of Maurertown, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at her home. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock. A memorial service will follow at Grace Baptist Church in Woodstock at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Ken Sparks will officiate. Mrs. Crabill was born September 22, 1942 in Frederick County, daughter of the late Hetzel and Virginia Wetzel Kerns. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Allen Crabill; sister, Lorraine Henson and brothers, Elwood Kerns and John Kerns. She is survived by her son, Aaron K. Durham, Iva Lilly - Davenport  
Iva Lilly Durham, 73, Davenport IA, formerly of Woodstock VA, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport, IA. Formal funeral services will not be held as per her wishes, but a private family memorial will be held at a later date. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home assisted her family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Diabetes Association. Mrs. Durham was born on February 13, 1942 to Carl B. and Lenore (Curry) Lilly in Whitman, WV. She married William Durham on December 25, 1965. She attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV and retired on disability from the Social Security Administration as an Operations Supervisor after 19 years of federal service. A member of Mensa, she enjoyed reading, writing poetry and short stories, and playing piano. She also taught piano lessons for many years. A devoted and loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her daughter, Jayne (John) Naughton, of Davenport; grandsons, Benjamin Childers (Iowa City), Alex Childers (Davenport), Joseph Childers (Norfolk, VA) and Kevin Naughton (Davenport); a brother, Rev. Carl (Paula) Lilly, Chesapeake OH; beloved cousins Janet (Leland) Endicott, Delbarton, WV and Betsy (Bill) Walden, of Ohio; and several cherished nieces and nephews. Her parents and one brother, James Lilly, preceded her in death. Emerick, Georgia Ellen (McNair) - New Market  
Mrs. Georgia Ellen Emerick, 69, of New Market, passed away Sunday morning, March 1, 2015 at Life Care Center of New Market. She was born March 16, 1945, a daughter of the late Leslie and Helen Estep McNair. Mrs. Emerick was a homemaker and for many years was a child caregiver in her home. She also enjoyed playing bingo. Georgia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gerald "Butch" Emerick; a son, Sean P. Miller and his wife, Carla, of New Market; a sister, Nellie Manning of Maurertown; and three grandchildren, Hayden Miller, Erica Schell, and Aundrea Schell. She was predeceased by her parents; step-father, Warren F. Miller; a brother, Roy "Jake" McNair; and a sister, Lilly Mae Miller. She was a member of the Manor Memorial United Methodist Church of New Market, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday. Her pastor, the Rev. Bruce Johnson, will officiate. Interment will follow in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in New Market. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Theis Funeral Chapel in New Market. Lillian Pearl Wharton Ford, 88, of Front Royal, passed away on Friday, February, 20, 2015 in the Commonwealth Assisted Living at Front Royal. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February, 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Seth Alcorn and Pastor Tim Dyke officiating. Interment will follow in the Robinson River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Brightwood, Virginia. Mrs. Ford was born on June 25, 1926 in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late William Ashby Wharton and Lilly Pearl Corbin Wharton. She was a member of the Rivermont Baptist Church, the Jolly 60's, and the Viscose City H.D. Club. Mrs. Ford was married to the late Aubrey Garland Ford. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara F. Coskrey of Marietta, Georgia; one sister, Virginia Coppedge of Brightwood, Virginia; one brother, William Wharton of Strasburg, Virginia; one grandson, Michael Jason Coskrey of Acworth, Georgia; one granddaughter, Wesleigh Ford Coskrey of Atlanta, Georgia; and great-grandson, Bryson Michael Coskrey of Marietta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
