Charles Martin Jackson, age 69, a resident of Maurertown, VA passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Winchester Medical Center.
A funeral service for Mr. Jackson will be conducted at 12:00 noon Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jamol Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Warren County.
He was born in Front Royal, Virginia on April 11, 1945, a son of the late Charles Martin Smith and Alease Theresa Jackson.
He retired from Johns Manville where he worked as a supervisor. He was a member of Esbie Baptist Church, and was a US Army
veteran stationed in Hawaii with the 35th Infantry during his time served. He attended the Douglas School in Winchester, loved fishing, riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and enjoyed competing in power lifting competition where he earned many titles and trophies.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Teresa Cooper and husband, Pastor Jamol Cooper; grandchildren, Joshua, Dion, Tyre White, and Lomaj and Anya Cooper along with five great- grandchildren and a brother, Frank Jackson and wife, Valerie of Dover, DE.
Pallbearers will be Joshua White, Lee Thomas, Lloyd Willis, Lomaj Cooper, Kenny Jackson, and Virgil Thorpe.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Williams, Wesley Williams, and Kenneth Jackson.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
