With loving memories and sad hearts, we say goodbye to Elenora Frances Nesselrodt of Supinlick Ridge Road, Edinburg, Virginia. Elenora passed away May 15, 2013 at the home of her youngest son, Dale, and his wife, Candy. They made their home, her home for the past six years.
Elenora was born in Shenandoah County on July 28, 1927. She was 85 years, 9 months, and 18 days old. She was the daughter of Edna Mae Funkhouser and Howard Roth Reed.
She married the late John Paul Nesselrodt on October 3, 1941. Also preceding her in death were 3 children, Louise Elizabeth and Gaylon and Gayona (twins) Nesselrodt and one grandson, Gregory Scott Estep.
She has 5 living children, Eva Shernette Estep and husband Austin of Edinburg, Gene Allen Nesselrodt and Edward Lee Nesselrodt, also of Edinburg, Paul Leonard and Dale Martin Nesselrodt and wife Candy of Mt Jackson. Elenora is survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Elenora was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all. She was a Nana, a Nanny, and a Grandma to everyone that knew her. She was a homemaker and enjoyed music and traveling.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Helsley, David C. Kent, âMikã Lancaster, Carroll Miller, Jeremy Nesselrodt, and Donnie Weatherholtz. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Barrick, Jim Elder, Dandy Harlow, and Randy Pennington.
The family will receive friends at Valley Funeral Service at Bowman's Crossing on Saturday, May 18 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Stoney Creek Church of the Brethren in Basye on Sunday, May 19 at 2 PM. Burial will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jerome, Virginia where Elenora was a member. Pastor Louie Shafer will be officiating.
