Emma M. Wagner, 81, of Woodstock, VA, passed away Thursday, November 15, at Consulate Health Care in Woodstock surrounded by her family and friends during her last hours.
The funeral will be held Monday, November 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Reverend George Bowers will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock.
She was born September 7, 1931 in Woodstock, daughter of the late Ernest and Rose Feller Mowery.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, E. Robert (Bob) Wagner; her daughter, Sheila Bauserman of Woodstock; and three brothers, Gaylon Mowery of Woodstock, Doug Mowery of Strasburg, and Earl Lee Mowery of Woodstock.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Bob) Wagner and wife Lynn of Woodstock, VA; her son, Richard (Rick) Wagner and wife Doris of Woodstock; grandson, Matthew Bauserman and his significant other, Julie Renson of Woodstock, VA; grandson, Andrew Bauserman and wife Merideth of Woodstock, VA; step-granddaughter, Ann Comer of Broadway, VA; step-granddaughter, Brandi Dysart and husband Billy of Hudson Cross Roads, VA; six step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
Emma was a long-standing member of the Antioch Church of the Brethren at Calvary. She was a member of the American Legion Post #199 Auxiliary in Woodstock, VA. She held many offices not only in the local chapter but also at the District and State levels to include Department President for the Department of Virginia. She was a member of the 8 and 40 and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Pallbearers will be Doug Mowery Jr., Laymon Mowery, Victor Mowery, Robert Baker, Don Sherman Jr., and Moe Ritenour.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of American Legion Post #199 Aux., Festus Foltz, and Larry Foltz, Jr.
The family received friends Sunday from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Emma was always thinking of others. She touched many people in many different ways. She helped to organize the Memorial Day Parade in Woodstock for many years. She helped with the beauty pageant at the Shenandoah County Fair for several years. For many years, she catered dinners, banquets and weddings in the area for the public and private sectors. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be missed by family and friends.
