Evelyn Frances Bailey Wines, 92, of Front Royal, VA, died on Monday, May 6, 2013, at Warren Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Sammy Campbell. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Wines was born July 20, 1920 in Waterlick, VA, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Regina Stover Vermillion Bailey. She was the last surviving member of her family.
She was a member of Bennett's Chapel United Methodist Church and Front Royal United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wines retired from Avtex after 42 years of dedicated service.
She was married to Samuel Burrell Wines, Sr. who died on April 12, 1995. Evelyn's husband and papa loved to hear her sing and sometimes her brother Raymond would join in singing with their clear, strong voices. On Sundays in the summer and fall she would take her brothers guitar and would go and visit and sing and play "Coming Home" for company.
Surviving are two granddaughters, April Dawn Wines Henry and Ronny Lee Wines; one grandson, Kevin Sean Wines; two great-granddaughters, Whitney Henry and Chelsey Henry; two great-grandsons, Blaize Wines and Bryce Wines; a step-son, Lee O'Farrell Wines; a brother-in-law, Ralph Miller; a sister-in-law, Alma Lee Crane Bailey; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Lee Wines; and a step-son, Samuel B. Wines, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Henry, Larry Miller, Bobby Weeks, Rick Carver, and Jeff Mellott.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 9, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.
