Floyd Lee Bauserman, 88, of Front Royal, died May 10, 2014 at Amerisist in Front Royal.
Born February 8, 1926 in Toms Brook, he was the first son, third child, of twelve children born to the late Elva Senseney and Martin Bauserman of Toms Brook.
He graduated from Toms Brook High School, Class of 1943, a class of nine girls and nine boys.
He was a World War II
veteran of the United States Navy
, serving two years, and a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 199 of Woodstock having served as Post Commander and named "Mr. Legionare".
Floyd returned to his job at Avtex Fibers after the war. He retired in 1989 after more than 46 years. He was well liked and respected by his co-workers, both men and women.
An outdoorsman, Floyd enjoyed deer and turkey hunting each Spring and Fall. He was always busy cutting wood, gardening, and doing lawn work. Floyd was especially proud of building his home "hands on".
Survivors are his wife, Eunice Butler Bauserman; one son, Scott Lee Bauserman of Front Royal; two daughters, Karen Leigh Estep of Toms Brook and Connie Sibert of South Carolina; three grandsons; one great-grandson; two brothers, Clark and Martin, Jr. of Woodstock; five sisters, Faye Layman, Kay Wetzel, and Shirley Mauck of Woodstock, Sarah Jane Bagnell of Mt. Olive, and Geraldine Gagnon of Sharpsburg, Georgia.
Arrangements for cremation are with Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal. Private burial will be in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Waterlick.
In lieu of flowers, a remembrance to blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601 would be appreciated.
