Franklin B. Brown, age 85, of Woodbridge, Virginia, died April 20, 2012 at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service including a tour in Korea during the Korean conflict as a technical instructor at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer Mechanic and Technical School and later retired after a 25 year long career as a civilian technical instructor at the school at Ft. Belvoir, VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pearl Brown of Dedeaux, Mississippi, and by nine brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Arlene Isabel Brown; daughters, Kathy Brown and Renee Brown Strain; a sister, Allyne Tichenor; a brother, J.D. Brown; and 4 grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 26, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 12351 All Saints Place, Woodbridge, VA, and on Friday, April 27 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 4109 Jerome Rd., Jerome, VA. Interment will follow the Friday service at the St. Paul's Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
