Gladys Rinker Chrisman, 95, of Front Royal, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Heritage Hall in Front Royal.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Clem-Golliday Cemetery in Fort Valley.
Mrs. Chrisman was born January 7, 1919 in Fort Valley, daughter of the late Abraham Russell and Pearl May Clem Rinker. She worked for Alton T. Matthews, Inc. as an office clerk and was a member of the Trinity Church of the Brethren.
Mrs. Chrisman was preceded in death by brothers Marvin Rinker, Robert Rinker, Alton Rinker and Russell Rinker and a sister Georgie Rinker Chrisman and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was married to the late James Daniel Chrisman who preceded her in death on October 14, 2010 after 71 years of marriage.
Surviving are one daughter Charlotte M. Mauck and husband Leonard of Front Royal; one son Roger L. Chrisman and wife Carolyn of Luray; three grandchildren Donna J. Miller and husband Vince of Front Royal, Bryan T. Chrisman of Bentonville, and Chad E. Chrisman and wife Karen of Ashburn; two great grandchildren Braden M. Chrisman and Taylor Anne Chrisman; sister-in-law Betty Rinker of Fort Valley; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Chrisman, Chad Chrisman, Wayne Rinker, Richard Chrisman, Eddie Rinker, David Chrisman, Gary Kenney and Sonny Cheeks.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Miller, Vince Miller, Leonard Mauck, Vernon Cullers, Steve Cullers, Angus Mauck, Ira Fristoe, Steve Snyder, and Sonny Tampkin.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 23, one hour prior to the service.
