Hazel Viola "Polly" Figgins Brown, 83, of Front Royal, VA, died on February 20, 2013 at Warren Memorial Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Sammy Campbell. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born November 17, 1929 in Warren County, VA, daughter of the late Russell and Mozelle Ramey Figgins. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 53 and VFW
Auxiliary Post 1860. She was married to the late Leroy Brown.
Polly was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who demonstrated love, kindness and guidance to her entire family. We thank her for the joy and happiness she brought to our lives. We thank her for always being there when we needed her. We thank her for always wanting the best for us. We thank her for her smile and unwavering love. You are an inspiration to all of us. We will cherish the many wonderful memories we shared with you and we will always feel your presence in our hearts. We will miss you so much, Love Dewey, Joyce, Dixie and Glen.
She is survived by two sons, Dewey Brown, Jr. and wife Anita of New Market, VA and Glen Brown of Front Royal; two daughters, Joyce Allison of Front Royal and Dixie Brown of York Haven, PA; four grandchildren, Alex, Tiffany, Cory, and Cayce; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Lily; one brother, Vernon Figgins of Mt. Crawford, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Rachael Brown; six brothers, Herbert, Abner, Herman, Frank, Raymond, and Ollie Figgins; and three sisters Mamie Henry, Virgie Henry, and Lucille Lewis.
Pallbearers will be Alex Brown, Cory Brown, Michael Bubzisz, Archie Henry, Lovell Brown and Alan Good.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sandra Hamman, Hazel Sisk, Ginger Estes, Zebbie Boutchyard and Debbie Fox.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, February 25, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.
