Helen Virginia Lee (Holsinger) Ritenour(1925 - 2013)

Helen Virginia Lee Holsinger Ritenour, age 87, of Strasburg, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Sunnyside Presbyterian Retirement Community, Harrisonburg.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with The Reverend Timothy Waltonen officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Ritenour was born July 18, 1925 in Timberville, a daughter of the late Leon and Edna Yates Holsinger. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and loved helping people by volunteering at Compassion Cupboard, Strasburg Museum and the book store at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. She was a teacher's aid in Shenandoah County Public Schools for more than 20 years and was the wife of the late Russell Arthur Ritenour.

Surviving are her son, Gerald Phillip Ritenour of Richland, Washington; her daughter, Rebecca E. Updyke of Broomfield, Colorado; two sisters, Mildred Crabill of Lebanon Church and Clarene Wolfe of Winchester; four grandchildren, Michael Phillip Ritenour and wife Judith Ann, Jason Conrad Ritenour, Anna Rebecca Updyke and Caitlyn Elizabeth Updyke; and three great-grandchildren, Sarah Ann Ritenour, Ivan Alan Ritenour and August Conrad Ritenour.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will meet at the church at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
