Irma Wilson Pearson, 96, of Front Royal, VA passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at her home.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19, at 3:00 p.m. at Marlow Heights Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jim Bunce.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Leeds Cemetery in Markham.
Mrs. Pearson was born in Fauquier County on May 5, 1918, daughter of Beverly and Leo Mae Heflin Wilson.
She was a graduate of Marshall High School and Winchester Beauty Academy.
She was married to Robert Berkley Pearson on January 13, 1951 by Rev. Paul Watson in the Marshall Baptist Church, and after their marriage they moved to Front Royal.
She owned and operated a beauty shop in Marshall and Front Royal for forty four years. After retirement, she volunteered at Warren Memorial Hospital from 1981 to 2003.
She was a member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church, having taught Sunday school for many years.
Surviving are two sons, Larry G. Pearson of Christiansburg, VA and Barry L. Pearson and wife, Susan, of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter-in-law, Hedy Pearson of Frederick County; one sister, Ruth Payne of Marshall; two granddaughters, Meredith M. Pearson of Charlottesville, VA and Amanda N. Pearson of Virginia Beach; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Berkley W. Pearson; and several brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Ray Winn, Bob Winn, David Bryant, Kenneth Pearson, Alan Wimer, and Mike Sealock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marlow Heights Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 517 Braxton Rd., Front Royal, VA 22630.
Arrangements are by Maddox Funeral Home, Inc. in Front Royal, VA.
